Established in May 2024, the Wairarapa Community Action Group (CAG) is a passionate and dedicated group with members from across the Wairarapa region.
The group is actively working on a list of issues they aim to address, with a particular focus on making public spaces more accessible and advocating for changes within a government department to better support the community.
Watch this space for updates on the Wairarapa CAG’s progress as they work to make the Wairarapa a more equitable and accessible place for all!

The Wairarapa Community Action Group (CAG) meets monthly to connect, collaborate, and plan actions for meaningful change. In 2024, our meetings were held at the Carterton Events Centre, providing a central and accessible space for members.
Starting in 2025, we will expand to use different venues across the Wairarapa, ensuring we engage with a wider range of communities and make our work even more inclusive.
Our meetings are casual and welcoming, creating an environment where everyone’s voice is valued. Each session focuses on identifying and prioritizing equity-based issues to address, with plenty of time for thoughtful discussions and collaboration.
Afternoon tea is always part of the agenda, giving members a chance to connect informally and foster the supportive, connected group dynamic that defines our work.
