Foundation for Equity and Research New Zealand (FERNZ)
FERNZ Karori Community Action Group (CAG) was established in December 2023 and is dedicated to identifying and addressing equity-based issues within the Karori community.
We meet monthly at different accessible venues in Karori.
When we meet we discuss the issues we have identified and decide on the best course of action.
The CAG has already successfully advocated for better accessibility at the Karori market, built relationships with local businesses, and advocated for improved accessibility at a local venue.
The group is also committed to tackling broader systemic issues to create meaningful change in the community.
Our meetings aren't just about the work.
We always make time for afternoon tea, sharing laughs, and enjoying each other's company.
This has created a deep sense of friendship, connection, and care within the group.
We look out for each other, and that bond is reflected in the way we work together with enthusiasm and support, facing challenges and celebrating successes side by side.
Watch this space for news on how the
Karori CAG plans to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD) which is on the 3rd of December 2024.
