Wellington central community action group (Disability Cag)

The FERNZ Wellington Central Community Action Group (Disability) is our longest established group, having been formed in December 2023. 

We are a friendly, growing group, which meets monthly at different accessible venues allowing us to stay connected with the community.

The group has an extensive list of actions they are working on, during each meeting, these actions are reviewed, debated and new tasks are assigned.

All members encouraged to bring new equity-based issues to the group.

 During our meetings, we work hard work, share laughter, enjoy debate, and enjoy light-hearted moments.

We are not all about work; at each meeting we enjoy afternoon tea which allows us to get to know each other better which has formed a tight knit, focussed group that is achieving wonderful things.

This year our Wellington Central CAG has worked on projects that  include:

• Advocating for improved access at a local farmers market.

• Working with a community centre to improve access to bathrooms.

• Building relationships with local community.

• Supporting group members to raise equity based issues. on behalf of themselves and the group.
